Harry Styles has signed a solo recording contract with Columbia Records, the same label behind his group One Direction, reports Billboard. The terms and timeline for the solo album are still unknown.

We first had a clue that Styles might be headed towards solo career, last year when the pop star registered four new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Then, in March, he joined the roster of Full Stop Management, the company headed by former CAA executive, Jeffrey Azoff.
Since One Direction formed on The X Factor U.K. in 2010, the group has created four No. 1 albums and one No. 2 record. Styles is currently filming the Christopher Nolan World War II drama, Dunkirk.
